Dresden offers a wide range of digital services to make it easier to interact with the local authority. From registering your address to applying for documents – many tasks can be carried out conveniently from home using online forms and similar tools. You can apply for identity cards and passports at self-service terminals.

Participation in city life

Citizens can play an active part in municipal projects and decision-making processes. Feedback on important issues such as urban planning or environmental protection can be provided online or in person at the Citizens’ Lab or other drop-in centres. At hackathons, participants can develop their own ideas directly into prototypes.

Access to public information

The public has online access to public documents, reports and local news, as well as, for example, the live stream of city council meetings, so that they can stay informed about the activities of the city administration. In addition to dresden.de, the city administration regularly posts updates on social media regarding relevant and current issues.

Open data for everyone

A great deal of data is available online and in real time. This includes 800 datasets on the Open Data Portal, 400 topics on the Thematic City Map, and data from other municipal platforms. Those interested can find information on available parking spaces, free charging points for electric vehicles or environmental data for flood forecasts.
