Introduction

Urban mobility is undergoing fundamental change, and Dresden is committed to forward-looking mobility solutions. The Dresden Mobility Plan 2035+ develops innovative strategies that combine public participation and scientific expertise to shape transport in a sustainable way.

The aim

Dresden is to achieve modern, environmentally friendly and connected mobility. By expanding public transport, promoting electric mobility and creating smartmobility services, the city aims to make urban transport more efficient and sustainable.

Smart charging infrastructure

A dense network of charging points, including many fast chargers, makes it easy to charge electric vehicles. Users also benefit from smart charging management systems that show which charging points are available and automate the charging process.

Pathways to sustainable
mobility

The MOBIpunkte will provide the public with central transport hubs that link car- and bike-sharing schemes, public transport and electric mobility. These services are designed to make it as easy as possible to switch to sustainable modes of transport.

Fewer traffic jams, a better quality of life

We are working on a smart traffic management system that reduces congestion, optimises traffic flow and minimises environmental impact. This leads to less stress in everyday life and improves both quality of life and air quality.

New transport options

To improve the traffic situation, the city is trialling new measures in the field of urban mobility as part of a series of mobility projects. Innovative mobility concepts such as e-mopeds and e-scooters are being tested to enable people to get around the city more quickly and flexibly.

New business areas

The transformation of urban mobility is creating innovative business opportunities in areas such as electric mobility, traffic data management and charging infrastructure. Dresden also offers valuable opportunities for innovation as a test bed for autonomous driving.

Sustainable solutions

In partnership with the city, businesses are working on sustainable mobility solutions that protect the environment and also boost competitiveness. The use of AI and communication systems to optimise mobility and energy supply is opening up new business models.

Cooperation for the future

Businesses, local authorities and universities are working together on projects relating to smarttraffic management, or are collaborating in the fields of electric mobility and digitalisation. Ultimately, the aim is to improve transport systems through innovative technologies and data management.

Smart Mobility

Investments in smarte infrastructure, such as the ‘Green Wave Assistant’, are improving the efficiency and sustainability of traffic flow. Companies at Dresden are reducing their transport and logistics costs whilst improving their environmental performance.
