On Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., the 15th regional conference Smart Cities will take place at the Institute of Wood Technology Dresden, Zellescher Weg 24. The focus is on the topic "Smarte Shaping the future: On the way to a sustainable and climate-friendly city and region". Interested municipalities from Saxony and the surrounding area as well as institutions that deal with Smart-City issues are invited to attend. The event offers a diverse, interactive program with impulses from municipal practice, workshops, networking formats and panel discussions.
Dresdens Mayor of Economic Affairs Jan Pratzka: "Participants can learn about exciting measures relating to smarte energy districts, participation in the Smart City and flood prevention, among other things, which are currently being worked on in Dresden and in municipalities from the region".
The state capital Dresden is one of 73 municipalities supported by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building in the model project Smart Cities. Eigenbetrieb IT-Dienstleistungen provides the project management and works together with WISSENSARCHITEKTUR - Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture (TU Dresden) as a scientific partner. The regional conferences are held several times a year in participating model municipalities. In Dresden, the conference is being held in Saxony for the first time. The ministry's event is being organized by the coordination and transfer office for model projects Smart Cities.
