Dresden, the state capital, provides a teleservice via its administrative portal www.dresden.de. This portal is therefore subject to the provisions of the Telemedia Act (TMG). Furthermore, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (EU GDPR) applies.

In principle, it is possible to use the service portal without providing any personal data. Personal data refers to specific details concerning the personal or factual circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person; in particular, this includes data linked to a name or data from which a direct connection to that name can be established.
When accessing the portal, the following data is stored for security checks:
The data collected is deleted no later than ten days after a security check has been carried out.
For statistical purposes, we use an installation of the Matomo (formerly Piwik) analytics software, which is operated entirely within our data centre. Full IP addresses are not processed and are only stored in truncated form.

To enable content on www.smartcity .dresden.de to be accessed in English, we use the translation service provided by DeepL SE.
The publicly accessible web content of the above-mentioned sites is processed. Anonymised IP addresses and user agents are also processed. Conword complies with the requirements of the GDPR and data processing takes place entirely within the EU.
The use of the contact and newsletter forms requires the voluntary provision of personal data in order to fulfil the requested services.

A form is available for contacting us, into which you can enter your first name, surname, telephone number, email address and a message. The contact form is automatically encrypted when accessed.
To receive the newsletter, a valid email address must be provided. This is stored in a database and forms the basis for the provision of the service.
The email address provided also serves as a means for the user to unsubscribe from the newsletter.

The portal does not use Java applets or ActiveX controls. JavaScript is used to a limited extent. Disabling JavaScript in your browser does not, in principle, restrict the usability of the application.

The pages of the administration portal contain links to other websites. Such links can be identified by specific symbols and, in most cases, by the web address being explicitly stated. When external links are clicked, a new browser window opens, provided that the user has JavaScript enabled.
Dresden, the state capital, accepts no responsibility for the content of other websites accessed via links from the administrative portal. The links are only briefly checked and assessed at the time of inclusion. Continuous monitoring of content is neither intended nor possible.
When browsing the websites www.smart,city anddresden.de, no data is transferred to the linked social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) by default. Consequently, there is no user tracking by third parties.
