Saxony-Anhalt hosted the 11th specialist congress of the IT Planning Council in Halle (Saale) on March 29 and 30, 2023 under the motto "Digital administration - people do it!". The approximately 450 participants were able to discuss the latest findings and developments in the field of administrative digitization.
The two days of the congress offered exciting presentations and new impetus for the digitalization of German administration. Among well-known speakers from all over Germany, the model project Smart City of the state capital Dresden was also presented. Professor Dr. Michael Breidung and Professor Dr. Jörg Rainer Noennig (TUD) presented interesting background information on the funding project on the topic of "Development of the Dresden Smart City strategy - a model process for cities and municipalities". With a mixture of lecture and discussion, the format was embedded in the topic area "Being there" - "Digital municipal services of general interest".
Background
Creating a digital administration that focuses on the interests of citizens and companies is one of the most important tasks for the future. The IT Planning Council exists to coordinate cooperation between the federal and state governments on information technology issues. It is the central political steering body for the digitalization of public administration in Germany. In addition to the meetings of the IT Planning Council three times a year, the specialist congress takes place once a year.
