The regional conference in Jena brought together local authority representatives from the region to exchange information and ideas on the topic of Smart City . It was therefore convenient that Jena was the first regional conference to take place in a federal state bordering Saxony, which is why the project team from the Dresden pilot project also took part. The conference focused on the topic of "Shaping the digital future together - learning and sharing in smartcities and regions".

The Jena vision of Smart City is a city that creates and uses knowledge with the help of digitalization. At the conference, the pilot project provided in-depth insights into the various fields of action that are to be brought to life in the coming years. One focus was the provision of urban data via the "WISSENsAllmende Jena" platform.

In the panels, various stakeholders discussed how municipalities in the region can learn and share together and shape a smarte future. The workshops presented practical examples relating to urban data platforms, smarte visualization and participation in the Smart City . Anja Jannack supported the latter workshop as head of the "Smart Participation" measure from the pilot project Smart City Dresden . She was also invited to the fishbowl discussion "Learning and sharing in the communal society".

The regional conferences of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) are organized by the Coordination and Transfer Office for Model Projects Smart Cities (KTS) and are aimed at municipal representatives from the region. A regional conference for interested municipalities is also to be held in Dresden in the near future.
