In order to bring the model project Smart City Dresden (MPSC) and the individual measures closer to the citizens of Dresden, the MPSC team took part in district festivals in Johannstadt, Friedrichstadt and Prohlis on the 2nd weekend in September. All three districts are the focus of the MPSC's "Smart Neighborhoods" measures, which are primarily being tested in these areas. This is why citizen participation is particularly important here.

With the support of the Technical University Dresden, the MPSC team had a stand at each of the three festivals, answered citizens' questions about the project and also offered a hands-on activity with the participation tool U_CODE under the following motto: "How do we shape our cities and districts together in the future? At our stand, you can become a master builder yourself with the U_CODE co-design tool! Explore the city of Dresden and your district in a virtual 3D environment and plan your own buildings, green spaces or other great ideas with interactive digital tools! With a few simple steps, you can make (design) suggestions for what your city of the future should look like."

The campaign attracted a lot of interest over the weekend. The designs were saved and are now being evaluated by the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR team (TU Dresden) for the update of the Smart-City strategy Dresden.
