At the 22nd regional conference in Halle (Saale) on June 3, 2025, the focus at the halfway point of the " Smart Cities model projects" funding program was on the topics of perpetuating the measures and inter-municipal cooperation. Around 135 participants from the region - including representatives from non-funded municipalities - agreed that Smarte urban development is the key prerequisite for sustainable cities.

The keynote speeches and panel discussion in the morning were followed by a networking break over lunch. In the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to find out more about various Smart-City measures implemented by local authorities in the region at the "Market of Opportunities". The model project Smart City Dresden also played an active role here and presented the Cleema app to interested parties at a stand. Afterwards, all participants of the event worked together in three different workshops on the topics of digital twin, Smarte mobility and sensor technology as well as citizen participation and presented their results.

The regional conferences of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) are organized by the Coordination and Transfer Office for Model Projects Smart Cities (KTS) and are aimed at municipal representatives from the region. A regional conference for interested municipalities has already taken place in Dresden. You can read a follow-up report here.
