At this year's district festival in Friedrichstadt, which took place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 2 p.m. on Wachsbleichstraße and Adlergasse, several key players from Smart City Dresden presented themselves together. The Office for Economic Development (state capital Dresden), STESAD GmbH, WISSENSARCHITEKTUR - Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture (TU Dresden) and SachsenEnergie AG actively participated in the anniversary festival.
With over 40 stands, a stage program and hands-on activities, the 30th district festival offered a varied program for all generations and reflected the vibrant diversity of the district. With information stands, hands-on activities and on-site discussions, the partners showed how urban development, the future of energy and citizen-oriented research can go hand in hand. The aim was to enter into a dialog with citizens.
Several projects were presented to interested parties and onlookers:
- The U_CODE tool from WISSENSARCHITEKTUR (TU Dresden) makes it possible to be creative in a 3D model of your own neighborhood. For example, you can construct buildings, plant trees or create playgrounds. A low-threshold playground that makes you want to play, but also very vividly depicts the needs and ideas of the neighborhood residents. the 3D model for playful urban design was particularly popular with the children.
- For the first time, the Economic Development Agency and Sachsen Energie presented the Interactive Totem for the vision of a positive energy district ( sector coupling project), which digitally visualizes the project areas and makes them accessible in a playful way. It shows how sustainable building refurbishment, smarte energy supply and citizen participation work together to create liveable and climate-friendly districts.
- Interested citizens of Friedrichstadt were able to find out about the greening of the heat supply in their own district, for which the state capital is receiving funding from the EU as part of the "NEUTRALPATH" project.
