News from the pilot project Smart City Dresden

For liveable smarte cities and regions, digitalization is a huge opportunity to tackle major municipal challenges such as climate protection, mobility and the heating transition. At the 4th Congress of Model Projects Smart Cities (MPSC) on April 23 and 24, 2024 in Leipzig, approaches for smarte cities and regions became visible from which all municipalities in Germany can benefit.

Around 230 participants from local authorities, politics, urban development and research came together at the Kunstkraftwerk in Leipzig. The working and development communities of the MPSC met afterwards on April 25. The MPSC team Dresden was also present with several representatives and took the opportunity to network in the workshops and during the breaks, to develop ideas together or to transfer concrete solutions, such as the energy dashboard of colleagues from the CUT project in Leipzig. It became clear that networks such as the community of model projects Smart Cities are the basis for smarte solutions that create added value for all cities and regions in Germany.
