Better networked

Dresden benefits from a modern digital infrastructure that provides access to fast internet connections and mobile networks. Wi-Fi in public places and a stable mobile network offer convenient accessibility and networking throughout the city.

Smart in everyday life

Pioneering technologies such as 5G and LoRaWAN® are helping to ensure that smarte applications find their way into everyday life, for example in healthcare, mobility and energy management, and optimize communication within the city.

Efficient communication

Smarte communication systems help to disseminate information quickly and effectively, promote cooperation and improve access to public services, which should ultimately make life easier for citizens.

Safety in public spaces

Intelligent sensors and monitoring systems make the city safer. Traffic flows and weather data can be monitored in real time and emergency messages transmitted promptly.

Future technologies for
innovations

The mobile communications standard has taken digital networking to a new level. For companies, Dresden offers an excellent basis for innovations in areas such as Industry 4.0, networked mobility and digital production thanks to the expansion of 5G and research into 6G.

Research of international importance

Dresden is home to research that will change the world. Research centers such as the CeTI Cluster of Excellence at the Technical University Dresden and Vodafone's Tech Innovation Center attract international experts and companies.

Key technology LoRaWAN®

LoRaWAN® technology opens up new possibilities for the digitalization of business processes through cost-efficient, low-energy sensor solutions. Volkswagen and Bosch are already using these key technologies for the "Internet of Things".

Flexible energy management

The DymoBat project can be used to show how Dresden can use energy more flexibly in the future. This includes the use of Smart meters, 5G technology and artificial intelligence to improve energy management in urban buildings.
