Online discussion series "60 minutes": Open data - added value for citizens and society?

Public administrations have large amounts of data at their disposal. More and more cities are making this data available to their citizens for free use in open data portals - with the expectation of increasing transparency, promoting citizen participation and triggering innovation. But are these expectations realistic? What concrete added value is there for individual citizens and urban society in general? What challenges need to be overcome when providing and using open data? How can these challenges be addressed and what role do different stakeholders play in this?

In discussion: Dr. Lioba Buscher (Head of the Municipal Statistics Office Dresden) / Dr. Katharina Ebner (FernUniversität Hagen) / Marco Sieber (Open Data Specialist of the City of Zurich) / Moderation: Susanne Strahringer and Martin Wiener (TU Dresden, Faculty of Economics)
